Eliza LockInstitution: Curtin University
Eliza is a final year student studying Health Promotion at Curtin University in Perth, Western Australia. She is passionate about global public health, environmental conservation, and the complex relationship between the environment and the health of individuals. In 2020, Eliza conducted a climate change needs assessment of sustainable campus practices at her university and developed a proposed intervention plan with specific strategies that could reduce the environmental impact of campus practices at her university. Eliza also volunteers at the Collaboration for Evidence, Research and Impact in Public Health (CERIPH) which is a multi-disciplinary centre within the Faculty of Health Sciences at Curtin University where she is involved in work for the organisation and specific public health research/programs conducted by academics. As a Planetary Health Ambassador, Eliza hopes to implement sustainable campus practices at her university and empower individuals to increase their control over their health through raising awareness of Planetary Health issues in the university setting.
