Eliana DaCunhaEliana is a junior Biology B.S. (pre-med) and Global Health B.A. double major in the Honors program at Providence College. As a PHCA, she has helped lead Planetary Health programs at her college and has worked with other PHCAs to create an "ABCs of Planetary Health" book to help children cope with isolation during the pandemic and learn more about Planetary Health. At her college, she also serves as the President for the Class of 2022 on Student Congress, has worked as the Student Representative on her college's Virus Control Taskforce, and studies ovarian cancer as a research assistant to Dr. Yinsheng Wan in her school's oncology lab. In her free time, Eliana enjoys painting, reading, and listening to music, but also loves spending time outside surfing, playing polo, and snowboarding. Her immense love for science and nature has made her passionate about the relationship between human and environmental health. She hopes that through the PHA, she can continue to make a difference in these areas of life.
