Bear AragonEducation InternBear Aragon is studying medicine at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) with plans to specialize in emergency medicine and natural disaster preparedness. As a member of UCSF’s five-year track, Program in Medical Education for the Urban Underserved (PRIME-US), she is currently pursuing her Master of Public Health in Health Policy at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.
Growing up in Colorado, Bear developed and unwavering awe for Earth’s natural systems, a love which she brings with her to medical and graduate school. She is interested in understanding and reversing the role negligent policy has had in contributing to our current climate crisis and its disproportionate burden on the health of Black, Brown, Indigenous, and low-income communities. She strives to center equity and community voices in all her work.
In her free time, Bear enjoys doing ceramics, painting, and marveling at everyday animals and critters. She looks forward to bringing her love for art, nature, and human life to her work at PHA.
