Afia Jesse Joseph is a first year student at the University of the West Indies and is currently pursuing a BSc in Nursing. As a first year nursing student, her program has shaped her understanding of the role the environment has on health and in the healthcare system. Her journey throughout her schooling has made her curious to understand and educate others, and has shaped her to be punctual, a problem solving, and a skilled communicator. She flabbergasted others when she became the most improved student in her academics at secondary school. She expects to develop further knowledge about maintaining the environment with the aim of improving health for all.
